You are to me what breath is to life,
With me, always, in joy and in strife.
Aloof and apart from you for a week,
My strength ebbed and I felt so meek
But, then there was a ray of hope,
Your faith in me was the life saving rope,
Day by day, I faced, and began to count,
The urge to see you began to mount
Each moment stood like an era,
Time was still, in my life’s opera,
Searching I was for my dream queen,
Like hungry cattle for some grass green.
Then came the dream girl in blue,
All of a sudden, the time flew,
Life was back in me, my eyes glew
With a face as fresh as morning dew,
There was a spring in my stride,
Purposeful I was, beaming with pride,
Thinking of you as my bride,
You are mine – my heart cried.
You bring brightness to the day,
Keeping all worries at bay,
Always cheerful, happy and gay,
Life long, I wish to, along with you, stay.
Kill me not, by going away
Leaving me in total disarray.
Coffee time is over and so fast,
All these memories fly into past.
Again I wait for the next afternoon,
Because –
You are to me what breath is to life,
With me, always, in joy and in strife
